Bibliotheque manages to make wine drinking feel wonderfully literary. The SoHo space operates as a bookstore and café by day and a wine bar by night, surrounded by a collection of nearly 10,000 books. Its wine program includes more than 700 varietals and over 3,000 bottles, with an emphasis on French and Italian vintages and more than 20 by-the-glass options listed on the current menu. Even the full wine list gets in on the theme: it is organized like a novel, with 14 “chapters” carrying names such as Short Stories, Romance, Art History, and Fantasy. Bibliotheque also serves flatbreads, charcuterie, mezze, sandwiches, conservas, and other dishes, giving book lovers and wine drinkers plenty of reasons to linger.
